Spungella

The Spungella blog is probably the closest thing out there in wibbly wobbly web land to the ARC. Its run by a teacher (Jean-Denis ) and is mainly aimed at his AAU students, but for technical reasons has to remain independent from the educational institution (sounds familiar). Its full of great articles, useful links and teachings. In particular I'd check out the critique section where you can see the work of some other students and what Jean has to say about it. Soak it up :)

The reason for re-launching the "AAU" site was voluntary, I just wanted to distance myself from the AAU in order to be able to post and say things without getting the AAU into trouble.

The blog started out as a class enhancement tool if you will, but since I post all kinds of animation stuff on it now, it didn't make sense to be AAU specific in terms of look/name/etc.

You just have to be very careful when posting stuff online, so I think it's just better to not involve/represent my employers (ILM & AAU).

Hey Jean-denis

Yeah it was similar here, we used to be called the SBIT Animtion Blog (Southbank Institute of Technology).

But with all the Institute rules on copywrite and the issues with students interacting with the outside world unsupervised and all, it seemed better to make it clear that the Blog was a free standing thing.

Love your work :)

I liked San Francisco. Checked out some nice trees, a big red bridge and shops that sold handpainted animation cels. There was sour dough and sea lions down on the pier. I think that's where AAU is located?

This is an ineresting link that this path of thought took me to: http://online.academyart.edu/animation.html
