Time is different in space...

There is a lot of space in an anaimation student's head...

Or so it seems...

Ooo the mercury in the progress bar is almost up to the red star.

This better be worth it Ian.

I'm looking forward to some hip grooviness here.

Anyway, while I'm here and pretty certain that no-one will ever read these posts. I thought I'd write down an idea for the narrative stuff we're doing in Terry's class.

There's a Grandma. Well, a little old lady at least. I picture her a lot like the character in Sylvian Chomet's 'Triplets of Belleville'.

Oh, hang on I just heard the toater deliver my toast. I will be back in a mo' (A mo' of jam and fresh ricotta, I hope)...

OK, the character has a name. Her name is "Lol" (Little Old Lady, get it?)

Lol lives in a flat near a railway station.

She is a bit lonely. As families can tend toward the abandonment of the elderly in the selfish business of their own lives. So she talks to photographs, memorobilia, plants and pets.

She looks longingly at the phone. It never rings. She has been blacklisted by the telemarketing companies because she chats too long to cold callers and thus drags down company and shareholder profits.

Lol sits up late at night fearing death. Old people don't like to sleep much because sleep is like fast forward time travel to the end.

Under the wan street lamp light, through the lacy curtains, in the mists of the mourning. Lol looks out her window at the train station.

She notices the scurring shapes, the mist swirling shadows and their hissing communication.

Hang on a sec there's some nice atmospheric music... nup, still loading...

Lol wonders who there creatures of the night could be? So she puts on her gloves, lifts her poking umbrella and dons her lethal handbag to go out and investigate.

Grannies move silently like stalking cats, when they want to. It's not all bustling about. This is how they know all their grandchildrens secrets. Spying and evil interrogation techniques that involve home baked things.

Oh, there's about 1 cm to go on the download thermometer, so I better finish my synopsi...

Lol discovers the local grafitti gang at work. She slips away. And reappears with steaming hot coco and cookies.

Maybe she was wearing an old fashioned riding cape, so she looked like she was wearing a hoody. That's why the kids didn't notice her.

Any how she befriends her late night artist tribe and they treat her with respec' because she's a good listener and society doesn't listen to them, so they have to spray paint their thoughts and momentary existence in public view...

Buit there's a twist.

Oh, hang on, the Zoudov film has downloaded, so I can stop boring you with a narrative idea.

That film was great!. Chock full of hep grooviness and intricate planning.

The dialogue was in Russian? subtitled in French, but the story still remained understandable due to the animation.

Really good. And we were left on a cliffhanger, just like Stan Lee likes it.

It reminded me a lot of the stylisation for "The Incredibles".
