Nims Winter Story
The animation in this film is very simple and the timing is a bit laboured in some parts, but it is told with great affection and the art direction is nice.

I agree with you on the timing, Ian. There's leisurely, and then there's plain slow.
Also, I didn't pick up on the size of the character until the second half of the film. I had no reason to guess that the little guy was anything other than human before that, but I doubt that that was intentional.
