Just after we were talking about it the other day I've found a new(ish) blog about the production of the the Thief and the Cobbler. Its run by several of the artist who worked on the film.

What happened to the princess?
The Princes was given a much bigger roll by the Canadian studio. By the time they got their hands on it they were just trying to make it as much like Aladin as they could.
