Little Matchstick Girl

I'm surprised that Disney are allowing this to be posted on net sites this soon after its release, it will be interesting to see how long the link lasts. Here is the Academy Award nominated Little Matchstick Girl, that's right some new Disney 2D animation.

hey all! i've got this film on my special edition little mermaid cd... basically I bought it for that reason HAHA. it's a stunning 2d animation, and it's nice to see disney going back to what made the company work in the first place. it's all very well spoonfeeding the public modern, zippy characters that disappear into obscurity as soon as the movie has it's dvd release, but these gentle, softer, MUCH more appealing characters and storylines make animations work 100 times more, even today. i still get a kick out of watching lady and the tramp, jungle book and the aristocats. i also admire them tackling an actual SAD story as well. my family were bawling their eyes out at the end of this!! I LOVE IT!!! where's more?????

I remember you making one piece of animation when studying that touched on those subtle endearing emotional qualities KT. Are we ever going to see more animation like that from you? Hmmmmm? :)

Great to see you commenting, you as well Lisa.......... Love you guys............. I think I'm gona cry.

i'd give you a tissue, Ian, but I've gone through the whole box with this cold I've got. Actually, and from watching this short. The 'one rat' short was pretty sad too!

gah! when i ever get some FREE TIME up my sleeve! stupid liquid sucking all the animating talent i have outta me!

i do have an idea for another movie though, when i eventually have some time to tackle something. it's going to be a movie to a tom waits song... i can really envision the 2 characters who are singing it, interacting and reacting to each other with what's being said...and my idea is to REALLY focus solely on making those performances believable with 24 frame/sec animation, making every pose and facial expression as perfect as i can get it. i have the whole thing in my head, i just gotta get it down on paper now!

i wish i had more time to post up comments n stuff... i have this HUGE list of things i gotta catch myself up with on the net.. it's crazy!

p.s. i'm getting so utterly hyped about ratatouille!!!!!!
