Terry Gilliam

I don't know how many of you will be old enough to even know who Terry Gilliam is, but you should look him up if you don't know much about him. He started his career as an animator for Monty Python and went on to become an incredible film director (Brazil, 12 Monkeys, The Fisher King, Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas just to name a few). He has always been fiercely independent, and it looks like he is having quite the struggle promoting his current film Tideland.

-Geek Mode ON- Great stuff Ian. FOr those who don't know, Terry Gilliam is a pioneer stop-mo animator who did the classic MONTY PYTHON stuff. He's made some great films since - Twelve Monkeys, Brazil, Time Bandits - but his last one, Brothers Grimm, was horrible (apparently not his fault though, it was the dirty stinkin'producers). Tideland is supposed to be fantastic. -Geek mode OFF-

Actually, just heard a review that said TIDELAND is a nasty, misogynist and almost pedophiliac piece of work. And the reviewer made a pretty persuasive case. Urk!
