FilmA and Asterix (MORE VIKINGS?)

FilmA are an interesting Danish studio I discovered some time ago, there is lots of nice stuff to see on their web site (I love their character design), recently I returned to the site to discover they had previews for the Asterix movie they worked on up on the site. Its been released in several countries, but I haven't herd anything about it locally so I doubt its going to be released in Australia.

If you have any Asterix comics from when you were a kid (or older), then I would suggest you go back and have a look at them again since you have started learning about Line of Action and Balance. The artist(s) who drew the comics draw just like animators, the poses are fantastic. So its great to see them making the transition into cartoons again (there were a few low budget film made in the 80's but they were very average). From what you can tell from a preview it looks like they are doing a much better job this time.

If you want to see more stuff that FilmA are up to, then have a look at their web site here.

Y'know Ian, as much as Asterix was an insitution back when WE went to high school, I believe that a lot of our students have actually NEVER READ Asterix... which, of course, explains their low morals and poor character. But yes, I agree with everything you said... the guy who drew the books (Uderzo? Goscinny?) was amazing, and is still pumping 'em out I believe.
