Arthur de Pins

Hi folks... Terry here (for a change). Just thought I'd share with y'all the website of one of my favourite artists: a French guy named Arthur de Pins who knows how to create a nice vector illustration!

Simple, stylised shapes, lovely use of 2-tone shading, and characters with such expressive features and anatomy... this guy is awesome.

Check out heaps of his magazine illustrations and some gorgeous Flash animations at http://www.arthurdepins.com/

And hey... why don't you send me a link to your favourite artist's website?

I love the way this guy uses colour. Take the picture Terry put on the Blog for example. Are we expected to believe that the walls of the restaurant are actually painted blood red? Maybe not. Dose it suit the mood and feel that he wants to create in the picture? YES!

wowee. this dude is now my idol big time. how the hell does he do those animations IN FLASH!!! he must drive himself nuts with that method. i thought they were done in 3D, but noooooo, we managed to decompress his swf file into flash and check out his methods - ALL SHAPE TWEENS AHHHHHHH! his work is so damn stylish and screaming of character. THANK YOU TERRY! YOU ROCK!

p.s. seeing as i don't know where to notify ppl of good websites, no harm in checking out David Mack's stuff neither... http://www.davidmack.com/. i'm sure you've heard of him terry. very cool artist - maybe not along an animation line but just for arts sake. wow factor!
